2. Implementing positive education, building students’ values of law-abiding, empathy and health

1. Optimising “Counselling Makes Perfect” Programme (S.1-S.6)

• Stage 1：Form teachers meet with class teachers regularly to identify students who need counselling at an early stage.

• Stage 2：Social Workers and teachers from guidance section set up focus groups regularly (communication, social interaction, family support, etc.) to understand and support students better.

• Stage 3：Individual Counselling Programme

2. Healthy School Programme (S.1-S.6)

• “Ping Wo Fund School Project Grants” administered by the Home Affairs Bureau：Managing Wealth Properly

• “Beat Drugs with Sports Programme” launched by the Security Bureau：to strengthen students’ physical fitness training and participation in sports competitions, and to promote healthy living.

• “Health In Mind – Youth Mental Health Promotion Programme” co-organised by Kwai Chung Hospital and Jardine Matheson： to deepen students’ knowledge and understanding on mental health and the importance of maintaining healthy both physically and mentally through whole-school participation.

• “Student Mental Health Support Scheme”：to support students’ needs on mental health by the collaboration between the healthcare, education and social sectors.

• Study life research by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University students：to study the mental state of our students and provide with recommendations.

• Positive and healthy campus seminars co-organised by the Police Public Relations Branch, YWCA and ELCHK, Enlighten Centre (Whole-person education session) ：to deliver the message of crime prevention, crime fighting, drug education, anti-sexual harassment, cybercrime, triads-joining prevention.

• Health service (drug education) and concerts organised by ELCHK, Enlighten Centre：to run a preliminary screening on those who need counselling through organising junior students health events and concerts.

• Hong Kong Playground Association ”Sports For All – iSports Programme”：to encourage students to participate in different sports live a positive life through the promotion of “newsports” and team engagement.

3. Positive and Healthy Programme (Social Workers of YWCA)

• Positive and Healthy Group Establishment (S.4-S.6) ：to remind students of the benefits of living a healthy life regularly at the morning assembly by the group members and to encourage students to live a positive and healthy life.

• In-class positive-and-healthy workshops (S.1-S.3)：to be arranged by YWCA and S1 and S3 students are the main target.

• Temperamental education (S.1-S.6) ：to cultivate students’ proper sexual concept and values orientation.

4.Others (Moral, Civic and National Education section) (S.1-S.6)

• Internet quality：to use the internet and online information properly and to prevent cyberbullying.

• Integrity education

• “Benevolence Programme”：more compliments and encouragement, less punishment, and to strengthen students’ determination to make corrections.

• “P.A.T.H.S. to Adulthood” Project (S.1-S.3)：

--Classroom management, student participation encouragement, group discussion and sharing, role playing, game leading,

3.Optimising life-wide extracurricular activities, building students’ self-confidence

1. Life-wide Extracurricular Activity Programme (S.1-S.6)

• Regular diverse after-school extracurricular activities：implemented in five categories：

Academic：”Road to Succeed” Programme, Chinese Culture Club, Broadcasting Club, English Corner, Fun Reading and Writing (Learning Support Group), Dream Space, STEM PLUS, Mathematics and Logical Thinking Training Group, English Folk Songs Group, Film Culture Club, Campus Beautification and Visual Arts Group

Service：Road Safety Patrol, Scouts, Girl Guides, St. John Ambulance Brigade, Junior Police Call, Community Youth Club, JCMKEC Social Service Group

Leadership：Prefects, Librarians, Student Union

Talent：Dancing Club, Marching Band, Choir, English Fun Club, Xi Pai (Diverse Putonghua Activity Group), Cantonese Drama Club, English Drama Club, Campus TV

Lending ball games and chess games to students during lunch time, with the assistance of the Student Union.

4. Strengthening student leadership-ability training, crafting JCMKEC masters

1. “Walk with You” Mentoring Project (S.1,S.4)

To build a peer support system and to help junior students adapt to school life.

• To match senior students with S1 students and arrange them having lunch together regularly so that the senior students can share their school life experience with S1 students.

• CLAP 2.0 Life planning ambassadors and senior students will share their experience on studying different subjects to S3 students so that S3 students can acquire the skills of selecting electives.

2. JCMKEC Masters (S.1-S.6)

• Setting criteria of becoming a “Master” by each activity group teacher

• Students will be trained to be little tutors and masters to assist teachers in designing different activities and leading their peers to participating in activities. In addition, as the little tutors, they will also demonstrate their talents by sharing their experience to their younger peers.

• 1-2 outstanding students in the groups will be nominated to be JCMKEC masters once for each term. They will also be qualified filling in the criteria of becoming a JCMKEC master in the extracurricular activity group programme, completed in late September.
