On the first day of school, we were supposed to welcome you back to school and have a little chat face-to-face at the school gate. Unfortunately, a typhoon struck and all the schools in Hong Kong were suspended. Although we could not meet today, I still want to encourage you through this message.
To all S.1 students, you may welcome your new secondary school career with apprehension, excitement or anticipation, but as long as you set clear goals, face up to obstacles bravely and never give up, you will have a high chance of success! We will all try our best to teach you, accompany you to grow and be here for you when you are in need.
For students in S.2 to S.5, you should re-examine the previous goals and review your past learning progress. No matter what your learning attitude and ability were in the past, you should tell yourselves to put yesterday aside, bid farewell to the you of yesterday and welcome the future. You should continuously get better and seek improvement amidst mistakes! We will keep guiding you throughout the journey.
To our dear S.6 students, this is the last year of your secondary school career. I hope you will design a study schedule catering for your own needs, make good use of your time every day, work hard and strive for good results! We will work together to help you prepare for the HKDSE examinations and support you along the pathway.
We expect you to learn what Professor Tam has taught us, ‘read once, write once, exercise once and calculate once’ to lay a solid foundation for ourselves and equip ourselves to face the challenges of the future through accumulative experiences! The school will continue to create opportunities for you so that you can realize your potential and demonstrate your strengths! As Ms. Yung often encourages us, that you must have confidence in yourselves, and believe in yourselves that you can do it because nothing is impossible!
In the end, I once again want to urge you to ‘set goals, persevere and never give up until you succeed!’
I wish you all ‘excelling in your study and best of health!’ Thank you!
Ms. Chan Yin Yin
